Goodbye to HHC and THC-P: new restrictions in Spain

Therefore, we would like to inform you of an important change that affects both the sector and our catalogue: as of 22 April 2025, we will no longer sell products with HHC and THC-P in our online shop, in compliance with the new Spanish regulations on psychotropic substances.

What happened to HHC, THC-P and other cannabinoids?

The Ministry of Health has recently published the Order SND/380/2025, which updates the Royal Decree 2829/1977 and incorporates a number of semi-synthetic cannabinoids to the List II of Annex 1, including substances such as:

• HHC (hexahydrocannabinol)
• HHC-O (HHC-O acetate)
• HHCP and HHCP-O
• THC-P (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiforol)
• THC-O
• Delta-8 and delta-9-THC-C8
• H4-CBD and THCA

These substances, associated with cannabis-derived products that have gained popularity in recent years, have been considered by official bodies as potentially harmful to health. According to the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the WHO, they present risks due to their potential for abuse, dependence and lack of recognised therapeutic usefulness.

Why will it no longer be possible to buy HHC or THC-P in Spain?

With this legal amendment, the control of HHC, THC-P and other semi-synthetic cannabinoids, and the control measures foreseen for psychotropic substances in Spain are applied. In the words of the BOE itself, the regulation seeks to “improve control over the circulation of these substances and contribute to their prevention and repression”.

From the 23 April 2025, is prohibited for distribution and sale on national territory. This means that no physical or online shop will be legally allowed to sell products containing these cannabinoids..
